I recently did a 3-part Facebook Live series entitled "Your Family and Technology." My goal with this series to help parents as they seek to shepherd their kids in the area of technology use. If you are trying to navigate this always changing landscape of technology with your children, you might benefit from watching these Family Friday segments. A brief summary is provided before each video below.
In part one, I wanted to provide a biblical framework from which to think about technology and how we might learn to redeem technology rather than be ruled by it.
In part two, I tried to educate parents on some of the possibilities and problems of technology and give some action steps for how we can maximize the possibilities while guarding agains the problems.
Finally, in part three, I provided some introduction on various tools and apps that can make technology safer and more helpful in the home.
Here are some helpful sources and aids that I used in the preparation for these videos.
The website I mentioned for keeping up on the newest digital technology is www.techsavvyparenting.com.
I made use of this free youth lesson in putting together this first session on technology and your family. You might consider using it as a framework for a discussion with your own children about this topic. http://blog.childrendesiringgod.org/free-lesson-for-youth-a-biblical-view-of-technology/
